Innsbruck Hostel

I am staying at Meininger Zentrum. It’s not right in the very center but it’s very close – 5 mins on the tram. 10-15 minutes to walk.

It has a guest kitchen along with utensils and crockery, a chill out area and seems to attract plenty of families. This is the only hostel I booked through HostelWorld. The rest were booked through booking.com.

A quick look at the website show me the same price as I paid without breakfast is available with breakfast when booked directly with the hotel so I’d recommend that.

The bedroom I am in is a 4 bed female dorm. Pretty small but manageable.

The bathroom is en-suite and is quite nice. There is a plug socket and small light at the head of each bed which is great.

They do offer separate breakfast for EU11 but some people have it included in their rate. I’m not bothered about breakfast so I don’t splash out. It looks to be cold meats, cheeses, breads, cereal, toast etc. I just try to get a cup of coffee and that’s fine.

It’s very close to the river so that’s easy for a walk. The washing machine is not working apparently but there is a launderette very close by.

There are no luggage lockers here. The sign indicates that they are in the basement but it’s just a rack. The locker in my room (pic above) is big enough for my 25l backpack and any other items, so all valuables have gone in there. I have just been putting my wheely in the corner of the room but it is tight.

Now that’s closer to the image I associate with the word ‘hostel’! Innsbruck looks lovely, and the photos from your trip to the mountains were stunning.

    1. Hostel is quite nice – it was full on Sunday and Monday but last night I was the only one in the room. Which means there is space … lovely to hear from you
