Leisurely journey from Bratislava and connection onto Innsbruck train in Vienna. I treated myself to a business class upgrade for EU15. Nice big, reclining seat and plenty of room.

UPDATE: It seems that I have bought an upgrade but I don’t have the right ticket to qualify for it!!
This is how I made the mistake:
I had decided to reserve a seat for this service just in case it was busy. As I was reserving, I was given the option to upgrade as below:

But when I clicked for the Business Class upgrade both 1st and business are highlighted.

Anyhow it seems that the Business class upgrade is from 1st class to Business Class. And I only have a second class ticket.
That’s not clear in the purchase screen – I thought I was buying an upgrade from normal to business.
It turns out that Business is higher than first class and you need a first class ticket to upgrade to business.
The inspector noticed this and said she would ask her colleague to come and see.
I was expecting a fine, or to at least have to pay for the first class ticket.
The other inspector came and by then I had figured out what I had done. I apologized and asked what I should do. I explained what I thought I had done – and he decided to let me off!
Lovely man – I was very relieved! A real ‘pay it forward’ moment.
So I continued in my wonderful business class seat! Arrival into Innsbruck was smooth – lots of tunnels as we came over the border from Germany.
Beautiful views but not translated well into pics:

15 min walk to my hostel – Meininger Zentrum. Seems nice – very small room for 4 people – 2 x twin beds and 1 x bunk beds. Guess who’s on top? 😂😂😂😳😳😳
Came straight out to do my laundry as I don’t want to waste the morning tomorrow!

See you soon
