Actual packing – 4 week interrailing trip

My interrail trip starts in a few days, but I am traveling to stay with my son in the meantime so packing happens now.

I have a cabin sized bag, a backpack (large daypack size) and also an anti-theft handbag for carrying valuables. This is probably one bag too many and after packing, I might lose the backpack or at least pack the handbag into the backpack

Would you consider losing the jeans? They are heavy and it won’t be cold I don’t think. Plus if they get wet they are a nightmare. I’d be a total disaster packing for that trip. My toiletry bag would fill the entire luggage probably. Travelling light I totally fail at!

    1. Ooh I like it…you know what – leaving in 20 mins but I might be ready to lose the jeans. Was gonna wear them to the airport but….Thanks for the prompt! You may have saved me some space x

  2. Okay – I’ve lost the jeans and a pair of large flip flops cause the jeans were black and I wanted black shoes to go with them. 😎

  3. Exciting times! Handbag inside luggage is a good idea, always nice to have a small bag to take out as once you are settled somewhere you don’t always want to take a backpack out and about.

Ditching the jeans is a good idea! But flip flops are useful in dodgy showers ……! Impressed by your minimalist packing, something I am totally useless at!

    1. I’m glad I ditched them! Might get some cheap flip flops for the showers. It sounds like you’ve done this before Jen?

  5. So impressed with your light packing. My toiletries and medical kit would half fill your bag! Good to see your packing cubes. So useful as unpacking involves lifting out packing bags (or not bothering) and that’s it. I have one for tops, one for bottoms, one for I underwear/PJs and one for swimwear. That way I don’t have to rifle through to find anything. Doesn’t matter if I go for a weekend or 6 weeks – same cubes.
Remember that you are in Europe so can buy anything you have forgotten. Excited to hear about your travels x

    1. Hi! I’m impressed too – the least I’ve ever packed. Packing cubes working out well – yep not bothering to unpack is my kind of style. How did you guess. Hope all going well with you?
